12th Annual Rafiki Run The Rafiki Run is a fundraising program that we started through running in races over the last decade. ("Rafiki” is the word for “friend” in Kiswahili). Between 2009 and 2019, a small group of children have participated in the Rafiki Run and have raised over $41,000 for Children of the Kingdom through running races in honor of children in Kenya and in India.
While we will not be running in a Turkey Trot this year due to COVID-19, we will still be running on Thanksgiving for our 12th Annual Rafiki Run to raise money for Children of the Kingdom. For 5 years, our family participated in kids’ marathon events in Nashville, Knoxville and Seattle for our annual Rafiki Run. For the next 6 years, we ran in a Thanksgiving morning 5K race for the Rafiki Run. And now this year, our family will make up our own fun run Thanksgiving morning.
With year-end giving just around the corner, please consider making a donation. 2020 has been particularly challenging with COVID-19 and with school shutdowns, so we are hoping to use funds raised here for some additional emergency relief to share with children and families in our program.
